The Historic Leipzig–Dresden Route
One of the highlights of Train Sim World 6 is the inclusion of the Leipzig–Dresden route, known as Germany’s oldest long-distance railway. Players may remember a shorter stretch from the previous Dresden–Riesa add-on, but this time the line has been expanded to an impressive 160 kilometers. That’s twice as long as before, giving rail enthusiasts even more opportunities to explore authentic German rail travel across countryside and cityscapes.
New Trains on the Track
Alongside the expanded route, several new locomotives are arriving at launch. The most eye-catching is the DB BR 411 ICE-T, a modern tilting passenger train capable of leaning up to eight degrees on curves. This tilt system allows higher speeds without sacrificing passenger comfort, adding a new gameplay mechanic with the GNT tilting system that players can manually control.
Another addition is the BR 294 shunter locomotive (also known as the V 90 series). This heavy-duty engine specializes in freight duties, hauling loads in yards or transferring trains between facilities. The BR 294 will be included in the deluxe and special editions of Train Sim World 6.
More Routes Coming Soon
While today’s reveal focuses on the Leipzig–Dresden route, Dovetail Games has confirmed two more routes will be detailed soon: the Morristown Line (USA) and the Riviera Line (UK). Each promises unique gameplay challenges and regional flavor, ensuring Train Sim World 6 offers a diverse set of experiences for railway fans across the globe.
Realistic Challenges
It’s not all smooth running on the rails. Train Sim World 6 is adding new layers of realism with faults, failures, and system resets. Players will need to deal with technical issues, obey temporary speed restrictions, and manage unexpected delays. These changes bring more depth to the simulator, making every journey a true test of skill and patience.
Final Thoughts
With its expanded 160km German route, new tilting high-speed trains, and a variety of fresh challenges, Train Sim World 6 looks ready to deliver the most immersive experience in the series yet. For fans of realistic railway simulations, this upcoming release is shaping up to be a must-play.
